The Special Yoga for Special Children Practitioner Training Level 1

Following on from our foundation course you will be guided through highly effective and accessible strategies for integrating the remedial advantages of the Special Yoga methodology into the lives of children with special and additional needs. On our courses you'll learn the three different aspects of the Special Yoga methodology taught using a variety of tools with mentor and community support throughout.

Inner Work

There is more and more scientific evidence of how our state impacts the state of the child/children in our care.

This course will introduce you to deeper practices of self compassion and self care. As we continue to improve our ability to manage our emotional state, self regulate with tenderness and kindness, find a deeper acceptance of our human-ness, we can then meet the children with more compassion, kindness and authenticity. The ongoing journey to embodying and living with humility, patience, loving kindness, empathy, compassion and trust enhances the quality of not only our own inner landscape but our relationship with others too.

Practice Tools

Having learned how to deliver the foundation practices, this course offers teaching and adaptations for more advanced postures and practices

We will share how to use these postures, sequences and practices to support each child with their individual needs to get the full benefit physically, physiologically, energetically and emotionally. This course offers further practices with breathwork, sound, massage, relaxation techniques and energy medicine to enhance your tool box ensuring that you always have the key to every child. You will have further films and teachings to support additional adaptation modules for children, young people and adults with a variety of special and additional needs that were not shared in the foundation course that you have taken.

Running our courses online gives students the flexibility to complete the self study aspects of the course at the time that is best for them. We start giving access to materials before the first webinar enabling you to begin your inner work straight away. To gain certification you will need to complete all modules, attend the live webinars and complete assignments and questionnaires placed throughout the course.

  • Various pre-course self study materials are available from 7th February

  • The course webinars delivered via Zoom will be held between 2.00pm and 4.30pm on Saturdays 27th March, 24th April, 29th May, 19th June and 10th July.

  • You will be part of a study group meeting regularly throughout the course. This will give you the opportunity to work with other students and a Special Yoga Senior Practitioner putting into practise what you have learnt so far.
